Breathwork

Extended Static Apnea

Extended static apnea is a breath-hold practice performed without movement, usually after a preparatory breath or breathing sequence. It increases carbon dioxide and lowers oxygen levels, creating a strong respiratory and autonomic challenge that can train breath tolerance but also carries risk if done unsafely.
