What is it

Erectile Function is a wellness marker within the hormones category. It provides a way to organize information about erectile function alongside other hormone-related topics, placing this aspect of wellness in a broader hormone-focused context.

How to measure it

Measure Erectile Function once each week and record the result using the same approach each time. Keep the timing and conditions as consistent as possible from one weekly measurement to the next so that changes are easier to compare.

Interpret the result direction consistently: higher values indicate better erectile function. Focus on the trend across weekly measurements rather than treating a single reading as definitive.

What good looks like

Read Erectile Function directionally: higher readings represent better erectile function, while lower readings represent less favorable readings on the scale. A value toward the upper end can be viewed as closer to a personally desirable result, but the scale is best used for orientation rather than as a verdict about you.

Because this measure is tracked weekly, the pattern across several readings matters more than any single result. Look for whether readings are generally moving upward, staying similar, or moving downward over time. One weekly reading may not represent the broader pattern, so avoid drawing a firm conclusion from an isolated change. Comparing readings consistently over time makes the trend easier to interpret.

What moves it

Trials that measured Erectile Function itself found increases with Saffron Extract, Ashwagandha, and Tribulus Terrestris. Saw Palmetto was unchanged in direct measurement. These findings are the most relevant evidence for movement in this marker because the marker was assessed directly; the usual time to recheck was about 4-14 weeks, depending on the intervention.

Other evidence is more indirect. Erectile Function Support, Sexual Function and Libido Improvement, and Blood Flow Improvement track related aspects of sexual function, but trials in these groups did not measure Erectile Function directly. The related interventions include Saffron Extract, Saw Palmetto, Maca Root, Ashwagandha, Tribulus Terrestris, Reishi, Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma), Garlic, Ginkgo Biloba, Potassium, Citrulline, Whey Protein, Swimming, and Vitamin B9 (Folate). Their findings may help explain why the marker could change, but they should not be treated as direct measurements of it. The Reishi evidence comes from animal studies, further limiting how directly it applies to people.
