Trigeminal Neuralgia
Trigeminal neuralgia is a disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes recurrent, brief episodes of severe electric-shock-like facial pain. It often results from blood-vessel contact with and compression of the nerve, although multiple sclerosis, tumors, or other structural causes can occasionally be involved.
