Full write-up

What is it

Liver Standard is a standard organ-focused checkup that brings several liver-related markers together for review. It includes markers such as Albumin, Direct Bilirubin, and Total Bilirubin, allowing the panel to be considered as a group rather than relying on a single result. Individual values are best interpreted in context, especially when reviewing a medical condition with a clinician.

What's included

Liver Standard brings together several categories of serum markers so they can be considered as one overall panel rather than as isolated measurements.

The enzyme group includes Alanine Aminotransferase, Aspartate Aminotransferase, Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase, and Alkaline Phosphatase. Reviewing these markers together provides a broader enzyme-based assessment than any one of them alone.

The panel also includes Total Bilirubin and Direct Bilirubin, which represent two bilirubin measurements that can be considered alongside the enzyme markers. Albumin adds a separate protein measurement to the panel, contributing another type of information to the overall picture.

All seven markers are measured from serum. Their results are intended to be interpreted together, with the different marker categories providing complementary perspectives within the same checkup.

How to prepare

Fasting is not required before the Liver Standard checkup, so you do not need to fast in preparation for the test.

The checkup uses a serum sample. Follow any separate instructions provided by the clinician or testing service arranging the sample collection.
