Negative Thought Record
A negative thought record is a cognitive-behavioral journaling exercise in which a person writes down distressing thoughts, the situation that triggered them, and evidence for and against them. The process helps identify thinking patterns such as catastrophizing or overgeneralization and can reduce the emotional impact of automatic negative thoughts.
