Mouth taping is the practice of placing tape over the lips during sleep to encourage nasal breathing. It is used by some people to reduce mouth breathing and dryness, but it can be uncomfortable or unsafe for people with nasal obstruction, sleep-disordered breathing, or other breathing problems.
No studies and no community reports of this practice are on file. What follows is general knowledge — read it as description, not evidence.
