Anti-infective

Linezolid (MAOI Antibiotic)

Linezolid is an antibiotic used against certain resistant bacterial infections. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, and it also has monoamine oxidase inhibitor activity in humans. That dual action matters because it can interact with serotonergic drugs and foods, while its antibacterial effect is useful for serious infections.
