Lacosamide
Lacosamide is an anticonvulsant used to treat certain seizure disorders. It works by enhancing the slow inactivation of voltage-gated sodium channels, which helps stabilize overactive neurons and reduce seizure activity. It is important because seizure control can improve safety and daily functioning, but the drug can also cause dizziness, coordination problems, and other neurologic side effects.
