Deficiency
Vitamin C Deficiency (Scurvy)
Vitamin C deficiency, or scurvy, occurs when prolonged inadequate intake reduces the body's supply of ascorbic acid. Because vitamin C supports collagen formation and iron absorption, deficiency can cause fatigue, swollen or bleeding gums, easy bruising, poor wound healing, and joint or muscle pain.
